Kathryn Miller has a passion for working with young people and loves helping to launch scholars into their college and professional careers. With a degree in Speech and Speech Education from Northwestern University she served on Northwestern’s Alumni Admissions Council for over 20 years. As a sales and marketing professional she held career development and marketing positions for IBM Corporation where she worked with ARCS Colorado member Barbara Berryman. Certification from the University of California in Independent Educational Consulting led her to establish her own educational consulting practice. She served for four years on the Board of the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA).
Her volunteer work also focuses on young people. She has served as committee chair on school accountability, gifted and talented, and speech and debate programs, as well as Boy Scouts. She was active in Cherry Creek School district’s Parent Information Network for over a decade. In 2009 she was honored as “Exceptional Volunteer” by Cherry Creek High School.
Kathryn is a professional colleague of ARCS Colorado Chapter President, Sue Zoby, and a long-time friend of ARCS member, Sandi Miller. With two grown sons involved in science professions, and friends like Sue and Sandi, Kathryn was defenseless when approached about ARCS membership. She is anxious to learn more about ARCS and plans to become involved in ARCS activities.
