These days, Ms. Griggs is a Ph.D. candidate in Aerospace Engineering Sciences at University of Colorado.  She is conducting research on a space-based instrument that makes real-time, global measurements of the Earth's atmosphere using signals from a GPS system.

In thinking about the role that ARCS Foundation has played, Ms. Griggs says, "The ARCS award has opened many doors that have greatly facilitated and enhanced my academic journey.  The funding has assisted in travel expenses for internships, and interviews with the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Los Angeles, allowed me to present my atomic clock research at a prestigious conference in Boston, and helped with everyday living expenses."

"In addition to the financial asistance, the networking opportunities provided by the ARCS Foundation are incomparable," Griggs said.  She goes on to emphasize, "Because of this distinguished award, I have been able to meet all sorts of individuals in the aerospace industry, including engineers, managers, scientists, directors, and even former astronauts.  These connections will undoubtedly help me in my future aerospace career."
